Jan. 13, 1790, in Vermont; dau. of Samuel and Patience (Choate) Duncan, of Worcester Co., Mass. She d. at Pulaski, N.Y., July 4, 1855. He mar. (2) Caroline Lord Mathews, Nee' Smith, Oct. 22, 1857. He d. at Pulaski, N.Y. in 1870 (?). She was b. June 22, 1805; d. Dec. 13, 1862, at Pulaski. No issue. She was dau. of Chauncy Smith and Lydia (Lord) ? his wife.
Selina Maltby Foote wrote: "Anson kept a great Tavern, lived in Whitehall."
The Choate (or Choates) ancestry is: 1. Robert Choate and Sarah ----; 2. John Choate, bp. Broton, Boxford, Colchester, Eng., Mass. 1643 mar. Anne; 3. Samuel Choate, mar. Mary, dau. of Stephen and Sarah (Wise) Williams. She was a cousin of Rev. John Williams; 4. Stephen Choate m. Rebecca, dau. of Samuel and Rebecca (Andrews) Boroman; 5.
